What is more rewarding than working with someone who likes to have fun? 😌 Li and Bernoff's novel Groundswell in chapters 9-12 talks about how important it is, to work the "groundswell" inside your company. Companies that effective work within their internal community embrace the groundswell by engaging, listening, talking, energizing, and supporting employees . Li and Bernoff mentions Best Buy to be successful example how a company excerises their employees to gain customer insights and internal solutions from the frontline to resolve day-to-day issues. Best Buy hired Steve Bendt and Gary Koelling who worked as corporate marketers using Blue Shirt Nation, a social media networking tool to gain " insight into what really happening at the store, not just when the store is spic and span for corporate visits ". Li and Bernoff discuss the idea of the groundswell in their novel ( Groundswell ). They told us there are three basic techniques for energizing the customers. 1. Tap into customers' enthusiasm with ratings and reviews. 2. Create a community to energize your customers. 3. Groundswelling the Superbowl

via GIPHY Soooo.. what is the Groundswell ? Is the Earth ground swelling up into destruction? Well to explain, the term 'groundswell' is "a social trend in which people use technologies to get the things they need from each other, rather from traditional institutions like corporations"   ( Li & Bernoff, 2011, p. 9) .  To put this into perspective, groundswell has always existed as people have always depended on each other and drawn strength from one another. Now.. with the advent and spread of social technologies and the internet, people and technology have worked hand and hand to organize in favor or against corporations through the world wide web.
