What is better than buying something that is full price?  SALE!!! 

Many online companies are strategically 'energizing their customers' by giving their customers the power to choose and dictate the way they shop ever before. Li and Bernoff discuss the idea of the groundswell in their novel (Groundswell). They told us there are three basic techniques for energizing the customers.

1. Tap into customers' enthusiasm with ratings and reviews.

2. Create a community to energize your customers.

3. Participate in and energize online communities of your brand enthusiasts.

 As for online retail companies who are looking to attract their customers, many online retail websites like Amazon, Fashion Nova, Urban Outfitters, and other online retailers have included an option for ratings and reviews on brand products. 





















Including this option of ratings and reviews allow the customers to be informed by other customers how much of a good product it really is.

Hmm..

The comments and ratings the customers are allowed to include on a purchase of a product, builds a level of credibility to the company website which is important when customers are browsing through a company site and deciding should they trust this product.


Urban Outfitters has created a blog site for consumers to be engage in and read about feature stories by personalize bloggers who shop at their retailers who incorporate their stylist clothing into their day-to-day lifestyles. Urban Outfitters looks to create a community to energize your customers.

Their blog website features stories of a creators (customers) who blogs, upload videos, and maintain social media website who are more than likely to write about their experiences with a product. Jamee Jones is featured on Urban Outfitters blog who shows off his home and how he decorates his space with Urban Outfitters products. He talks about his experiences with his UO furniture and how much he loves what he has done with them.


Fashion Nova is a fast-fashion clothing brand that has risen to popularity over the past few years. With 5 physical stores scattered across Southern California, its global popularity can be attributed to its strong social media presence, that has connected the clothing brand to consumers all over the world. Currently, the brand has over 10.6 million Instagram followers and exponentially growing sales. Fashion Nova has a way to participate in and energize online communities of your brand enthusiasts.

Fashion Nova uses their instagram social media account to allow customers/followers to participate in their products by wearing Fashion Nova clothing and adding the hashtag #novababe to be feature on their website.

Celebrities like Cardi B. and Kylie Jenner have participate in this online hype to attract Fashion Nova enthusiasts and to show how much of impact it has.
